«Από το Προσωπικό Βίωμα στη Συλλογική Μνήμη: Η Δύναμη της Αφήγησης»
Η Λεβέντειος Πινακοθήκη επανέρχεται στη σειρά των Διαλέξεων της Τετάρτης, στις 9 Οκτωβρίου 2024, με ομιλήτρια την Έφη Σπύρου, με τη διάλεξη «Από το Προσωπικό Βίωμα στη Συλλογική Μνήμη: Η Δύναμη της Αφήγησης». Μέσα από αυτή τη διάλεξη, η εικαστικός θα εξετάσει τη σύνδεση μεταξύ ατομικής εμπειρίας και συλλογικής μνήμης μέσω της τέχνης. Θα παρουσιάσει την προσωπική της πορεία και την επίδραση των πρώτων χρόνων εκτός Κύπρου στην καλλιτεχνική της ταυτότητα, εστιάζοντας σε έργα όπως τα 3Χ4Χ2.64, Bed-line, Post Gravity, Antivainin, Metamorphoses, Η Επέλαση των Σκυλιών, My Finest Fabulous and Amazing Book, Black Gold Flakes, και τα φιλμ Identity in Between και Womanifesto. Η Έφη Σπύρου θα αναλύσει πώς η προσωπική και διεπιστημονική της πορεία έχει επηρεάσει την καλλιτεχνική της πρακτική και θα αναδείξει τη δύναμη της αφήγησης στην τέχνη, συνδυάζοντας το προσωπικό βίωμα με τη συλλογική μνήμη σε μια ενιαία καλλιτεχνική αφήγηση.
Η Έφη Σπύρου είναι μια εικαστικός καλλιτέχνης. Σπούδασε στην Ανωτάτη Σχολή Καλών Τεχνών της Αθήνας και η δουλειά της επικεντρώνεται στη διάδραση ανάμεσα στο προσωπικό βίωμα και τη συλλογική μνήμη, χρησιμοποιώντας γλυπτική, φιλμ και φωτο-περφόρμανς για να διερευνήσει κοινωνικά και πολιτικά ζητήματα. Το έργο της έχει λάβει διακρίσεις, τόσο εντός Ελλάδος, όσο και σε διεθνή φεστιβάλ, και έχει παρουσιάσει σημαντικές ατομικές εκθέσεις. Η Έφη Σπύρου είναι η ιδρύτρια της μη κερδοσκοπικής καλλιτεχνικής πρωτοβουλίας RUNONART, η οποία εστιάζει στην κοινωνική αλλαγή μέσω της τέχνης, εμπνέοντας δημόσιο διάλογο πάνω σε σημαντικά σύγχρονα θέματα.
Η διάλεξη θα πραγματοποιηθεί την Τετάρτη 9 Οκτωβρίου 2024 στις 19:30, στο Αμφιθέατρο «Κωνσταντίνος Λεβέντης» της Λεβεντείου Πινακοθήκης. Η διάλεξη θα δοθεί στα ελληνικά. Είσοδος ελεύθερη. From Personal Experience to Collective Memory: The Power of Narrative
The A. G. Leventis Gallery is resuming the Wednesday Lectures series, on October 9, 2024, with artist Efi Spyrou. Spyrou will deliver the lecture ‘From Personal Experience to Collective Memory: The Power of Narrative’. Which will examine the connection between individual experience and collective memory through art. She will present her personal journey and how her years outside Cyprus affected her artistic identity, focusing on works such as 3Χ4Χ2.64, Bed-line, Post Gravity, Antivainin, Metamorphoses, Τhe onslaught of the dogs, My Finest Fabulous and Amazing Book, Black Gold Flakes, and the films Identity in Between and Womanifesto. Efi Spyrou will explore how her personal and interdisciplinary course has influenced her artistic practice and will highlight the power of storytelling in art, combining personal experience with collective memory in a single artistic narrative.
Efi Spyrou is a visual artist. She studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts and her work focuses on the interplay between personal experience and collective memory, using sculpture, film and photo-performance to explore social and political issues. Her work has received distinctions, both in Greece and at international festivals, and she has presented important solo exhibitions. Efi Spyrou is also the founder of the non-profit arts initiative RUNONART, which focuses on social change through art, inspiring public debate on important contemporary issues.
