Bretonský umělec Klez Brandar, usazený v Praze, vede od roku 2017 projekt „Bydlíte tady na Žižkově?“. Prostřednictvím série fotografických portrétů a spontánních rozhovorů s místními obyvateli vytváří sociologický obraz pražské čtvrti Žižkov, proslulé svou rozmanitostí a dělnickou historií. Dotazováním se chodců na jejich vztah k čtvrti zachycuje Brandar sociální a kulturní pestrost tohoto měnícího se místa a zároveň zkoumá otázky zakořenění a místní identity.
Maarten Crefcoeur, multiinstrumentalista z Nizozemska, vystupuje jak sólově za klavírem, tak v různých místních kapelách. Osud ho přivedl do Prahy a v říjnu oslaví deset let ve svém adoptivním městě.
Klez chtěl oslavit deset let života v české metropoli již v květnu 2025, ale po nehodě, kdy utrpěl bodnou ránu u srdce se oslava posunula. V říjnu se proto spojí se svým kamarádem Maartenem Crefcoeurem a uspořádají krásnou místní oslavu v jednom z nejlepších žižkovských pubů.

Breton artist Klez Brandar, based in Prague, has been leading the project “Bydlíte tady na Žižkově?” (“Do You Live Here in Žižkov?”) since 2017. Through a series of photographic portraits and spontaneous conversations with locals, he paints a sociological picture of Prague’s Žižkov district, famous for its diversity and working-class history. By asking passersby about their connection to the neighborhood, Brandar captures the social and cultural mix of this evolving place, while exploring questions of belonging and local identity.
Maarten Crefcoeur is a multi-instrumentalist from the Netherlands. You can catch him playing solo behind his keyboard or as part of various local bands. Life brought him to Prague, and this October, he will celebrate ten years in his adopted city.
Klez had planned to mark his own decade in the Czech capital in May 2025, but after being stabbed near the heart, the celebration was postponed. So in October, he will join forces with his friend Maarten Crefcoeur for a special local party at one of Žižkov’s best pubs.
