Årets utstilling, Siren, er kuratert av Daniela Arriado, og presenterer oss for kunstneriske motstandsstrategier i en tid preget av politisk polarisering, krig og demokratisk tilbakegang.

I en verden der demokratiske verdier er under press og autoritær makt blir stadig mer synlig, samler Siren kunstnere som bruker lyd, bilde og kropp til å utforske stemme, makt og motstand.
Utstillingen tar utgangspunkt i sirenen – en lyd vi kjenner som et varsel. Sirenen kan signalisere fare og kontroll, men også oppmerksomhet og samling. Her forstås den som begge deler: et uttrykk for statlig makt, og samtidig en stemme som nekter å tie.
Gjennom film, lyd og performance undersøker kunstnerne hvordan mennesker blir overvåket, disiplinert eller brakt til taushet i politiske og sosiale systemer. Mange av verkene tar utgangspunkt i erfaringer med militarisering, migrasjon, okkupasjon og omsorg – og i kroppens rolle i møte med makt.
Utstillingen henter sin tittel fra Regina José Galindos Siren (2024), der en politibil demonteres til alarmen stilner. Verket speiler flere av utstillingens spørsmål: Hvem har rett til å lage lyd? Hvilke stemmer blir hørt – og hvilke blir stilnet?
Siren vises i et tidligere sykehjem, et sted med historie knyttet til omsorg og stillhet. Denne rammen inviterer til refleksjon rundt heling, ikke som en rask løsning, men som en felles prosess. I møte med sorg, uro og politisk vold spør utstillingen hva kunst kan gjøre – og hvordan lytting kan være en form for motstand.

In the face of a global erosion of democratic values and the resurgence of authoritarian rhetorics, Siren convenes a polyphony of artistic voices that navigate the politics of alarm, voice, and resistance.
The exhibition takes its starting point in the siren—a sound we know as a warning. The siren can signal danger and control, but also attention and gathering. Here it is understood as both: an expression of state power and, at the same time, a voice that refuses to be silenced.
Through film, sound, and performance, the artists explore how people are monitored, disciplined, or silenced in political and social systems. Many of the works are based on experiences of militarization, migration, occupation, and care—and on the role of the body in encounters with power.
The exhibition takes its title from Regina José Galindo's Siren (2024), in which a police car is dismantled until the alarm falls silent. The work reflects several of the exhibition's questions: Who has the right to make noise? Which voices are heard – and which are silenced?
Siren is shown in a former nursing home, a place with a history linked to care, silence and restitution. This setting invites reflection on healing, not as a quick fix, but as a shared process. In the face of grief, unrest, and political violence, the exhibition asks what art can do—and how listening can be a form of resistance.
