A new flamenco community initiative hosted by the Flamenco Society of Canberra. A very informal, open-floor, blackboard style event to showcase the works in progress of local flamenco artists, students, aficionados, dibblers and dabblers. Open to all ages, all levels, all styles. If you'd like to show people what you're up to, we'd love to have you on stage.
Or just come to watch and support the growth of this community.
Each performer has a maximum of 5 minutes to present something, which can be solo or with their dream team, and they can appear several times with others too.
What is expected? It can be a complete extravaganza, a work in progress, or even just a portion of a work in progress - totally your call - the only requirement is that it is has meaningful flamenco roots, and it is live music. What we want to see is people taking the flamenco bull by the horns and getting creative. This is the opportunity to try something out in public!
Performers and guests alike are asked to pay $5 per person at the door, and buy a drink at the bar!
