Vive NW te invita a ser parte de un increíble día en el Columbia Gorge contribuyendo con la naturaleza y además recorriendo el majestuoso Beacon Rock.
Acompáñanos el sábado 18 de mayo, y aporta tu granito de arena en el área recreativa de Sam Walker en la región de Columbia Gorge, donde juntos retiraremos plantas invasivas que perjudican los senderos públicos. Al terminar esta limpieza, haremos una caminata en el emblemático sendero de Beacon Rock.
Durante la limpieza de plantas invasivas en Sam Walker, trabajaremos en conjunto con el personal del Centro de Restauración Ecodinámica. Este sitio fue adquirido por el USFS en 1969 y ha estado abierto al uso público desde entonces. El área proporciona una amplia variedad de vida silvestre. Al restaurar este sitio, mejoraremos el hábitat de los animales locales y el área para un mejor uso recreativo.
Después de nuestra limpieza, nos dirigiremos a Beacon Rock para realizar una increíble caminata por formaciones rocosas causadas por actividad volcánica. Esta caminata es moderadamente desafiante, y con 1,5 millas ofrece impresionantes vistas de Columbia Gorge. Al llegar a la imponente cima de Beacon Rock, nos deslumbramos con sus vistas panorámicas del río Columbia y de sus alrededores.
Este evento es totalmente GRATUITO e incluye: transporte, una caminata guiada, equipo de limpieza, toma de fotografías, mucha buena vibra y la oportunidad de conocer nuevos amigos.

ENGLISH:
Join Vive NW for an incredible day in the Columbia Gorge giving back to our local environment and hiking Beacon Rock. Join Vive NW on Saturday, May 18th from an incredible day of embracing our local natural areas through recreation and stewardship as we remove invasive species at the Sam Walker Day use site and then celebrate by a hike at Beacon Rock.
We start our day by heading out to the Sam Walker Day use site to work with staff from the Center for Ecodynamic Restoration on helping remove invasive plants from the area. This site was acquired by the USFS back in 1969 and has been open for public use ever since. The area provides a wide range of habitat for various types of wildlife. In helping restore the site, we can work together to improve habitat for local animals and the people who use the trails.
After our clean up, we will head over to Beacon Rock for an incredible hike up the volcanic formations. This moderately challenging 1.5 mile hike offers striking views of the Columbia Gorge during our entire hike. Once reaching the top, we have truly amazing panoramic views of the valley.
