About this Event

CentroNía is so excited to bring back this popular community event after a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic and finally get to celebrate the great culture of our neighborhood, which includes YOU! As the world reopens and flourishes again, we hope your restaurant has never been busier and you are eager to show off the unique cuisine to the community.

¡Buen Provecho! is a tasting tour to celebrate the amazing food and culture of Columbia Heights. ¡Buen Provecho! will take place on Thursday, October 20th, 2022 from 6:00-9:00 pm at individual restaurants along 14th Street, Irving Street, Park Road, and the 11th Street corridor in Columbia Heights.

In its third iteration, CentroNía welcomed nearly 200 guests, foodies, and families to 13 neighborhood restaurants and businesses, showcasing each restaurant’s unique cuisine while celebrating the community. In 2019 through sponsorships and ticket sales, we raised nearly $20,000 in critical funds for the children and families of CentroNía.

Access to high-quality early childhood education for families with children aged 0-5 continues to be the single most important challenge facing the District of Columbia and the greater metropolitan region. With your participation and support as a sponsor, this year ¡Buen Provecho! will look to increase our goal and raise $25,000.

CentroNía’s story began over 36 years ago in the basement of a church on Columbia Road right here in Columbia Heights, serving 15 early learners and their families. Today, as a nationally recognized, award-winning educational organization, CentroNía provides affordable, high-quality early childhood education; professional development to early childhood educators; and family support services in a bilingual and multicultural environment to more than 2,400 low-income children and families. Our holistic approach ensures that the children and families we serve receive the support and encouragement they need to succeed academically, develop a strong sense of community, and live healthy and active lives.

Please feel free to contact Carla Colon, CentroNía Development & Communications Manager at 202-332- 4200 ext. 1135 or email [email protected] with any questions.
