About this Event
The Listening Circle (TLC) is back for the winter series 2024, inviting local poets, story tellers, song writers, acoustic musicians, spoken word artists and dream makers to come again together in a circle. A circle to share, to listen. To keep that creative flame alive within and without through the cold winters.
Sign up starts at 4:30pm in the store. Performances start 5:00 - 6:30pm.
Pre-registration is required for these events as its helpful for organizers to arrange for the seats beforehand accordingly.
About Facilitator ~
Syra R Khan, is a poet, a story teller and a spoken word artist. Her work has been influenced by her own self unfoldment as well as growing up with Sufi poetry, mysticism, esoteric and ancient philosophy. She is a Holistic health practitioner and a Meditation Guide. She is also part of Banyen Books and Banyen's Events team. Her poetry is available on a free meditation app Insight Timer.

~This magical circle is created with the safe space of a modern group and the ancient spirit of those who told stories or poems, danced, and played music around a fire, warming themselves in the dark night with the fires of creativity.

~ My experience with the Listening Circle has been quite an expansive process. Syra as a facilitator is just amazing with her sense of being while holding space for the group. She made it such a safe environment for me to explore and access parts of me that I didn't think I could.
~ The Listening Circle by Banyen Books led by Syra had been absolutely life changing. The space is incredibly welcoming, unconditionally accepting and utterly up-lifting. It has been a privilege to attend and participate in the circle and meet all the wonderful humans who have attended. I have grown immensely as a person and as an artist.
