ABOUT THE EVENT
Spin-a-thon / ZUMBAthon has become one of the most anticipated annual fundraising events at Old Colony Y. Every year hundreds of members, volunteers, and Y supporters gather to cycle on stationary bikes or dance and raise money to support individuals, children, and families in need throughout our local community.
15 YEARS OF SPIN-A-THON: MAKING AN IMPACT
Over the past 14 years, Spin-a-thon has brought together more than 7,000 riders or dancers and raised more than $2.7 million to support life-changing YMCA programs and services. This year, we aim to make an even greater impact, and your support can play a pivotal role in helping us achieve that goal.
Your participation helps us make a measurable impact in our community. Here’s what Old Colony YMCA accomplished last year thanks to the funds raised from Spin-a-thon / ZUMBAthon:
Summer Camps: Old Colony Y granted more than $200,000 in summer camp scholarships, providing the magical summer camp experience to more than 600 children who otherwise would not be able to afford these opportunities.
Food Security: Provided 5,000+ meals weekly to combat hunger in our community, serving more than 1,000 families.
Health & Wellness: Supported 125 adults battling cancer through our no cost LIVESTRONG program.
