We're very excited to be focusing on Urban Zouk as our second topic of the year in our monthly deep dive series. We will be bringing some fun flavour and play to our dancing that has more of an urban, r'n'b, hip hop vibe π now don't worry if you haven't tried this before or this is not your natural style, the whole point of this will be having A LOT of fun and breaking down the movements so you can feel more comfortable with how and when you can work these into your dancing π€
As this is a 3 hour intensive we will have more time to explore the little details which can make a big impact π€ It also allows you to consolidate and practise with a range of people. This way our bodies are able to absorb and understand the feeling too π not just our minds intellectually understanding but not being able to put it into practice. Everyone who attends will receive individual feedback and dance with us too to make sure our feedback is personalised to help you get maximum value out of the sessions π€
This intensive is open to zouk dancers who are already comfortable with foundational footwork (basic, lateral, viradinha, lunge, simple turn, bonus etc). You do not need to know head movements for this class. Sadly this workshop is not suitable for those wanting to try zouk for the first time as we will be assuming knowledge of foundational footwork. If you are unsure whether this is you, then reach out and we can have a chat βΊοΈ we will run intensives aimed at various levels over the year.
This intensive will explore:
π Learning new urban zouk inspired movements and techniques
π How to add some fun styling and play to your dance with more of an r'n'b/ hip hop vibe
π Improving your confidence to dance and express yourself in different ways
π How you can indicate or initiate adding these concepts during the dance as a leader and a follower
