Spins are one of the moves that get the most attention in Brazilian Zouk! We get so many requests to teach this as everyone wants to be able to spin like a pro. As always there are a lot of details that can help us to find our flow with spins and we will be starting from the ground up to get you there π
This intensive will explore:
π Drills to help develop your ability to lead and follow spins
π The biomechanics needed to maintain a stable posture while spinning
π How to work smarter not harder to make spins feel more effortless
π Techniques to prevent dizziness and improve control during multiple spins
π Progressive exercises to build spin endurance and confidence at varying speeds
As this is a 3 hour intensive we will have more time to explore the little details which can make a big impact π€ It also allows you to consolidate and practise with a range of people. This way our bodies are able to absorb and understand the feeling too π not just our minds intellectually understanding but not being able to put it into practice. Everyone who attends will receive individual feedback and dance with us too to make sure our feedback is personalised to help you get maximum value out of the sessions π€
This intensive is open to zouk dancers who are already comfortable with foundational footwork (basic, lateral, viradinha, lunge, simple turn). Sadly this workshop is not suitable for those wanting to try zouk for the first time as there will be some assumed knowledge. If you are unsure then reach out and we can have a chat βΊοΈ we will run intensives aimed at various levels over the year.
