~ ABOUT the Open Level Zouk Workshop: ~
The open level zouk workshop will be taught by Mia and Tomás. Appropriate for beginners. No experience or partner necessary.
~ ABOUT the Dancing into Connection Special Topic Intensive: ~
Dancing into Connection (Vol. 2)
A 2-hour embodied exploration of presence, connection, and flow
Dancing into Connection (Vol. 2) is an experiential workshop that deepens our exploration of breath, touch, presence, and authentic relating through the container of partner dance. This offering invites you into a richer, more nuanced experience of connection — with yourself, with others, and with the moment — while cultivating ease, comfort, and aliveness in movement.
Through guided somatic connection exercises, relational practices, and partner dance explorations, we will explore what it means to enter a state of flow and embody authentic expression while moving with others. This workshop emphasizes listening through the body, attuning to sensation, and responding from felt presence rather than performance.
Partner dance — defined as any dance involving two or more people — can be a powerful container for healing, self-awareness, and relational insight. In this space, we will practice moving with consent, clarity and curiosity, while discovering how breath, touch, and presence can support deeper connection and mutual regulation.
This workshop is open to dancers of many backgrounds, including contact improvisation, Brazilian Zouk, fusion, and other partner-based or improvisational forms, as well as dance-curious individuals who are new to partner movement.
No partner and no previous dance experience are required.
Come as you are — curious, embodied, and willing to explore what connection feels like when it’s lived through the body.

To protect our fellow dancers who deal with asthma, migraines, or other allergic reactions, we strive to be a **Fragrance-Free Space.** Therefore, we kindly request that all dancers PLEASE REFRAIN FROM using perfume, cologne, or scented body sprays/lotions on the day of dances.
Announcement: If you would like more personal feedback or training, talk to teachers about private lessons! We do privates during the social in December and rates vary by teachers. Slots = 1 hr, 45 min, 30 min, 15 min. See the "private lessons" section down below for more information.

Zouksylvania teachers offer privates and/or mini privates before, during, and/or after the social depending on the day. Pricing varies by teacher, and hourly rates are listed below.
Teachers also offer mini-lessons for 15 minutes or half an hour for that fraction of their rate. Contact us on social media or let us know in-person if you would like to set up a lesson. We could recommend the teacher best suited for your needs or you may select one.
