Join Diane to take the mystery out of ZIPPERS! This is a great fabric scrap project. What you will need to bring:
Working sewing machine, with thread, fresh needle, zipper foot, don’t forget your power cord and foot pedal!
2- pieces of outside fabric 9”X11” (does not need to be two toned)
2- pieces of lining fabric 9”X11”
1 -piece of fabric for inner pocket 8”x 21” double the length you want the pocket depth
4-scraps 1 ½ x 4” for zipper ends, (can match or coordinate w/outside material)
2- #5 plastic zippers w/sliders (color of your choice) should be about 1 ½ “ longer than the width of your project and pocket width. (zipper by the yard works, just be sure to bring 2 sliders or zipper pulls)
Marking pen, few clips/pins
Bring extra fabric if you want to add side tabs or “D” rings to the sides
Amounts listed are for bag size pictured, but if you want to make a different size, just be sure your cut fabrics outside and lining are the same dimensions and that the zipper length will fit the width of the bag w/some extra room, zippers can easily be sized down. The pocket liner just needs to be double the length you want the pocket depth to be.
Class size 5 students. $40 class fee. Preregistration is required.
