Join us for a free and creative zine-making workshop hosted by Ty J. Williams (he/they) at the Granville Center for the Arts. Along with Ty's expert guidance, we'll provide all the necessary supplies, including a handful of vintage typewriters, to get you started making amazing zines. You will learn specialized binding, art, and design techniques to create your own niche publication.Zines have chronicled diverse cultures—from the Harlem Renaissance to mid-century sci-fi and the vibrant queer and punk scenes—serving as a canvas for writers, artists, and cultural enthusiasts. This DIY medium celebrates expression, community, and the simple joy of creating with just paper, a writing tool, and passion.
Free and open to all ages and skill levels.
Special thanks to the Granville Arts Commission for supporting this event!!!!
