Create zines and design posters that centre knowledge-sharing, decentralized archiving of organizing strategies, and calls to action!
About this Event

Organizing communities have relied on DIY and ad-hoc methodologies to create knowledge networks, share survival strategies, and cultivate hope for generations. Drawing from the Situationist International movement of the 1950's-60's, and DIY queer activisms through mail art projects and zine cultures of the 1970's-90's, Jude’s zine-making workshop centers creativity as a means of empowerment, strategizing rage, and understanding the legacies of anarchist & queer organizing.

Create zines, write letters, and design posters that centre knowledge-sharing, decentralized archiving of organizing strategies, and calls to action. All works will be scanned and shared publicly for ongoing distribution and action.

All welcome. No experience required. Materials provided.

This workshop is part of Rock Paper Scissors, a weekend devoted to small-scale publishing and the social life of the book. This year, local zinesters, printmakers, artists, poets, and publishers from across Ontario and further afield will join us for a print media lover’s dream. Peruse hand-made and locally published books and print media, and support small book makers, artists, and publishers on February 22 from 11 am to 4 pm.

The workshop space is on the ground level of the Boarding House Arts building. The washrooms are not wheelchair accessible. We encourage vendors and guests to stay home if they feel unwell. Please reduce the use of scented products (e.g. perfume, cologne) for this event.
