ZFL formed in late December `99 in Aberdeen, MD. `Looking Back’ was released in 2000, earning ZFL a spot on the 2001 NJ Metal Meltdown III with bands like Mastodon and Amorphis. CDs were sold globally and ZFL were in communication with some major labels. After recording 2004’s `Mountains Of Misery’ with great expectations, the band imploded with the departure of two founding members. After an 8 year hiatus, the band reformed in March 2012 and immediately went to work developing a new, more brutal sound with positive, intelligent lyrics. With the release of `Rumors Of War’ in March of 2015 ZFL began flooding the market and Baltimore area with shows. Winning several battle of the bands, earning slots on
shows such as `Summer Slaughter Tour 2014’ and `KNOTFEST 2015’. ZFL has earned the opportunity to open for countless Nationally touring acts such as Sepultura, Butcher Babies, Vision Of Disorder, Mushroomhead etc... With the new EP Release in late 2018 `The Pinnacle Of Our Deception’ ZFL continues to dominate shows in the local area, and are diligently working on taking their brand to the next level. The bands aggressive yet positive lyrics incorporate political and religious conspiracy, spirituality and consciousness, and breakdown of society, and the search for overall transcendence.
