Introduction to Zeta Potential Analysis with a Live Demo of Anton Paar's Litesizer 700 and SurPASS 3.
About this Event

Zeta Potential analysis is a powerful tool for the measurement of both colloid and solid material surface charge. Zeta potential analysis is relevant for a wide range of materials including proteins, peptides, polymers, food, filter membranes, biomaterials, etc. and is an ideal technique for measuring phenomena including colloid stabililty, protein aggregation, adsorption onto surfaces, etc.

The workshop will begin with a presentation of the theoretical background and practical applications of zeta potential analysis. The presentation will be followed by a live-demo of the Litesizer 500 and the SurPASS 3, Anton Paar’s particle and surface zeta potential analyzers. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own samples for testing on these instruments.

Agenda:

  • 10:30am - 11:30am: Introduction to Zeta Potential Analysis. Dr. Thomas Luxbacher
  • 11:30am - 12pm: Q&A Session
  • 12pm - 1pm: Light Lunch provided by Anton Paar
  • 1 pm - 2:30 pm: Demo and hands on session on Anton Paar Litesizer 700 and SurPASS 3 instruments including testing of attendee samples

Speaker:

Dr. Thomas Luxbacher, Lead Scientist. Anton Paar GmbH

Thomas Luxbacher received his PhD degree in Technical Chemistry at Graz University of Technology and looks back at almost 20 years of experience as a product manager in different areas. He is currently the principal scientist for surface charge and zeta potential at Anton Paar GmbH.
