Zeal & Ardor make their long-awaited Bristol return this fall. This marks their first Bristol headline in four-years, since their sold out Fleece debut. Zeal & Ardor is the bedroom project-turned-juggernaut from Manuel Gagneux, that rose to hyped-up prominence in a matter of months. A purposefully unholy conflagration of African-American spirituals, chain gangs songs, the blues, and Satanic black metal that drew lines between Scandinavia and the Delta, summoning both the blasphemous evils of the North and the bloodstained history of the South.
Where debut album ‘Devil Is Fine’ was a welcome surprise, and the follow up ‘Stranger Fruit’ was more refined, their S/T third album is a full-fledged manifesto. Gagneux has kept his unique, signature Z&A sound, fresh and hitting, while making this extreme mix of styles more accessible than ever.
