About this Event
The Collegiate Choir, composed of Illinois Wesleyan School of Music students and other university areas, performs sacred and secular choral music spanning six centuries in various languages. Selected by audition, the choir maintains a rigorous rehearsal schedule for their annual spring concert tour and other engagements. They have performed internationally in countries such as Italy, Russia, and South Africa, and have participated in prestigious events like the Universitas Cantat in Poland and the Woordfees festival in South Africa.
Renowned for their musicality, the choir has received accolades from notable figures such as countertenor David Hurley and Czech conductor Jiří Kolář. The choir also hosts the IWU Choral Commission Series, the oldest collegiate commission series in the U.S., contributing significant works to the choral repertoire. The choir will perform under the direction of J. Scott Ferguson. This free concert event is open to the public and all are welcome to attend.
