Michael Pignéguy , Brodie Stewart and Joe Powell join forces in new group ZARAPITO. After showcasing a selection of repertoire in May of this year, their show at The Ellington will see this new outfit present a complete tableau of their sonic palette. Originals will feature prominently as will re-interpretations of selected works from the contemporary jazz canon. The group aims to stretch ideas of musical interaction and expression while experimenting with different compositional forms. Expect performances on the edge where electronic and acoustic sounds collide!
