Together with a Zapatista deligation we will have dialogue about solidarity and the right to self-determination, share music and jam in community. We are humbled to receive a delegation of Zapatistas from Chiapas (Mexico), who are currently doing a tour through Europe. The Zapatistas movement in Chiapas has been a great source of inspiration and source of knowledge for social, political and cultural movements that aim to build alternatives to the colonial and capitalist system. During this event we aim to have dialogue with each other about solidarity and community. What can sustain us in our struggle to decolonize and repair the damage from the colonial and capitalist system? How can we support and be in solidarity with Indigenous Peoples/First Nations and their right to self-determination? And how do we give visibility to the manifest that was presented on the 16th of oktober in relation to the Century of Indigenous Liberation? And how do we understand the current climate crisis as a colonial crisis? Next to dialogue’s the program will consist of cultural performance and jam sessions.
Program:

21:00-22:00 cultural performance's & Jamm (feel free to bring instruments! )

Mame N’Diack: percussionist, singer, pedagogue. Central to his vision is that "Music is Medicine"
Wiruungga Dunggiir first nation elder from the Namba Gumbaynggir Nation
Australia and his African / Dutch partner Garra rrana ,both from a line of Medicine people Walking their journey together , building bridges and sharing their culture and knowledge ??

Entrance is on donation basis and will be used to cover the costs. In relation to safety of the zapatista's we do ask people to have QR code of vaccination for entrance or a negative test result. The event is a collaboration between Aralez, Sinchi Foundation and Indigenous Movement
Background Zapatistas visit to Europe:
After months of preparations, and weeks at sea, a delegation of the Zapatistas has touched down in Europe and is coming to the Netherlands. The “reversed conquest” has well and truly begun. On January 1 of this year, they published a Declaration for Life, co-signed with hundreds of individuals, collectives and organizations, outlining the objective of this voyage: making a contribution to the effort for anti-capitalist struggles — which are inseparable from the struggles for life — to converge in full consciousness of their differences and unhampered by homogenizing or hegemonizing forces.
