Get ready to dance! Zang and the Banshees bring an eclectic mix of funk, soul, disco, and hard rock, covering everything from Chic to Led Zeppelin, James Brown to David Bowie, Al Green to Daft Punk, and beyond. The band was formed in the summer of 2024 with the core members of Matt Fraza’s band, initially just for fun. Things took off when Rhiannon Martin joined, adding her powerful vocals, percussion skills, and flair for group dynamics.
The band leader Zang studied jazz drumming at university, but has also proven to be just as funky on the fretless Fender bass. Lead guitarist Curtis Eaton has captivated audiences with his Gibson guitar since the 1970s, bringing joy and energy to every performance. At the drums, Gordon Wilhelm—known as the Silver Fox—has over fifty years of rock music experience and a knack for getting the crowd moving. Rounding out the group with vocals and guitar is Matt Fraza, host of the Pump’s Wednesday Lounge and an old-school songwriter and performer. With a commitment to providing audiences a night off from their worries, Zang and the Banshees could easily become your new favorite band!
**Grenadine** is an all-girl punk band based in Wakefield, RI. Initially formed for a school talent show in 2023, the band quickly transitioned from high school stages and even won the 2024 RIC Radio Rock Hunt. Comprising five members—Melody Krueger on lead vocals, Avery Beatley on guitar and vocals, Abby Licht on guitar, Sabrina Blaney on bass, and Lu Culpepper on drums—these 17-year-olds cover rock, alternative, and punk music, drawing inspiration from the Riot Grrrl movement of the '90s.
Influenced by bands such as Bikini K*ll, Bratmobile, and Le Tigre, Grenadine has recently shifted from covering songs to performing original music, debuting its first original piece at its first anniversary. Along with its rock hunt victory, Grenadine has performed at various local venues, including Oktoberfest, The Ocean Mist, open mic nights, and The Pump House.
