Populated by the mariner Memon community as early as the 1800s, the area later also became home to members from various sects and regions. With the people came the food, and more importantly, the culinary traditions they followed.
On the influx of chefs and cooks from Lucknow post the arrival of Wajid Ali Shah in Calcutta, what followed was offering of gastronomic heritage in the city, with generational family continuing tradition today. Join us for this walk to get a slice of history peppered with anecdotes and garnished with personal narratives.
