About this Event
Celebrate Shabbat with joyful song as we welcome Zach Mayer back to Beth El! Zach, joined by drummer Fabio Pirozzolo and Beth El’s own Shabbat Rinah musicians, will lead our community in a meaningful and musical service, bringing his own exciting original music and kavanot (intentions) to help ground our bodies and lift our spirits. All are invited as we welcome Shabbat together in song!
Zach Mayer brings people together through the power of spiritual wordless melodies, rooted in Jewish tradition called niggunim. Zach channels his family lineage of four generations of cantors before him as he guides communities around the world in pursuing their own joyous voices in song. Singer, composer, multi-instrumentalist and teacher, Mayer has over 35 million hits on YouTube for his “Subway Sax Battle.” You can learn more about Zach and his amazing original music at https://www.zachmayermusic.com/.
Fabio Pirozzolo is an Italian drummer, multi-percussionist and singer currently based in Boston. Originally from Terracina, Italy, he started his career as a folk percussionist, playing Italian frame drums tamburello and tammorra, in one of the most famous folk groups in his area. Fabio performs in virtually any genre of music from jazz to world music to rock.Shabbat Rinah is streamed live on our website (though we strongly encourage you to participate in person for the fullest, participatory, transformative music experience!).
