YUMA YARN is a First Nations multi artform workshop delivered by Wiradjuri artist Rechelle Turner and musician Tahalianna Soward-Māhanga.Designed to introduce the community to the joyful meditative practice of slow-stitched coiled weaving, this free event is open to everyone. Using raffia, Rechelle will help you to master: making a center, and growing and shaping your own coiled piece.
Come along and learn step by step the basic weaving and coil weaving techniques to make a basket. And while you are making, enjoy wonderful live music by Tahalianna.
