About this Event
Experience Troy's original gathering place this holiday season during what has become one of our downtown's most cheristed winter traditions: the Yuletide Dinners at Overfield Tavern.
Our sixth annual Yuletide Dinners, held this year on December 7-8, are a feast for the senses: a historically inspired menu enjoyed by candlelight, gracious servers in authentic early-nineteenth-century clothing, the tavern festooned with holiday greenery, and convivial conversation and merrymaking as live period music plays in the background. Come in from the cold, sit near a crackling fire, and see why these dinners have become the hot ticket in downtown Troy each winter. These dinners sell out each year. You'll be glad that you added our Yuletide Dinners to your list of holiday traditions.
Here is the tentative menu for this year's event (subject to availability of ingredients):
- Appetizer: Frontier charcuterie
- Main course: Lollipop lamb chops with mint sauce, roasted brussel sprouts with bacon cream sauce, and sweet potato souffle with toasted pecans and hickory nuts
- Dessert: Pawpaw spice cake with cream cheese frosting
* Each dinner includes two drink tickets; additional drinks are $5 each
The Yuletide Dinners offer a fixed menu each year that seeks to please the modern palate while drawing inspiration from the foodways of the early 19th century. The logistics of preparing the dinners limits our ability to accommodate dietary requests. We are grateful for your understanding.
Insider tip: While both evenings feature live, period music, Saturday evening's performance will have a bit more zip to it. It makes for a wonderful, merry evening, but if you're seeking a quieter dining experience, opt for the Sunday dinners.
