SOLD OUT. Registration required. Celebrate the winter season by making your own festive yule log! Use it as a beautiful centerpiece then follow the ancient tradition of burning your yule log to celebrate the Winter Solstice (December 21st), the shortest and darkest day of the year. Workshops will take place indoors in the Center for Rural History; all materials included.
Family Workshop: Saturday, December 7th from 10 - 11 am
$15 per child (adult must be present)
We'll first read The Shortest Day by Susan Cooper and talk briefly about the traditions and meaning of the Winter Solstice. Then you'll have free time to decorate your own yule log, make a wish for the new year, and sip on hot cocoa. Best suited for ages 3-10, but all ages welcome.
Adult Workshop: Sunday, December 8th from 6 - 7:30 pm
$35 per person
You'll enjoy three mocktails using seasonal ingredients that can be found at the farm, set intentions for the new year, and decorate your own yule log.
