*The burden for our Mid- year Retreat*Greetings, fellow soldiers in faith! As we journey together, we're reminded that the power of testimony is in agreement (Matthew 18:16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.)
The burden to rescue ourselves, family and the nation began with the anchored scripture for this meeting, and its urgency was clarified with what our National Overseer shared with us during the last minister's retreat. We believe what our N.O shared can only be achieved through righteousness, as the Bible declares, "Righteousness exalts a nation" (Proverbs 14:34).
We recognize that the change we desire starts with us. We must take responsibility for living righteously, as a natural extension of the gift of righteousness we've received from God (1 John 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous).
We're not just declared righteous; we're called to live out this righteousness in our daily lives.
Jesus modeled this for us, using
I. the mystery of travailing ( in prayers and evangelism) (Isaiah 62:1 For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth. )
11 . The purging fire (Malachi 3:2-3 But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap:And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.)
to overcome the world's systems that hinder righteousness.
Let's gather to identify the obstacles to righteous living in our lives, pray to act out the life , following our Master's example.
