A welcoming weekly Youth Textile Club every Wednesday for those wanting to improve their textiles skills, work on sewing projects, gain more confidence in working on a sewing machine or simply wanting to learn new textile skills in the company of others in our lovely studio.
If you've been meaning to start or finish a textiles / sewing project for ages and never get round to it or keep getting stuck on something then this session is for you!
You will be expected to bring your own projects and materials but we will provide the sewing machines and will have some basic sewing & textiles accessories available for you to use in the studio such as dressmaking scissors, pinking shears, pins, threads, iron and board etc. We also have equipment to help you learn new skills such as weaving, crochet and embroidery. There will always be a tutor on hand to support you with your projects.
Drinks and snacks included.
To ensure this Youth Textile Club is accessible to everyone we have made it a Pay What You Can club for the weekly session (NO SESSION ON 13TH MARCH). When booking, please add a donation of however much you can afford for the weekly session NO SESSION ON 13TH MARCH). We have suggested £6 per session to help cover costs but if this is not affordable for you then please input what you can. Any donation is welcome. If you have any questions about bookings or please contact me by email on [email protected] or pop into the Stitch-Up Studio.
We will also be using this time to gain feedback from children and parents / carers about what creative activities they would like to see for their children going forward at Meanwood Community Centre so all feedback is greatly appreciated.
There is ample parking available at the Community Centre Car Park. If you cannot fit in the Car Park, please park on the main part of Stainbeck Avenue, with consideration to the residents please do not park in the cul-de-sac.
The Stitch-Up Studio is to the rear of the Community Centre. Once you arrive in reception please follow the signs for Stitch-Up.
