Event Description:
Join us for the Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority's 2025 Youth Symposium, a dynamic event designed to empower young people in key areas including STEAM, Health & Wellness (Mental & Physical), Social Action/Justice, Education & Career Planning, Financial Literacy, and Culture (including Social Media). Our 2025 symposium features engaging and educational activities, including:
- Stop the Bleed: Learn three life-saving techniques to control bleeding in emergency situations: applying direct pressure, packing a wound, and correctly applying a tourniquet. This training will empower you to potentially save a life.
- Exploring the Human Body with Virtual Reality: Duquesne University will lead interactive virtual reality experiences and table activities, offering a fascinating look inside the human body.
- Interactive STEM Activity: Engage in a hands-on STEM activity that introduces the basics of software development and the importance of collaborative teamwork.
- Why Therapy Is Important for Adolescents: This session will explore the benefits of therapy for teens, discuss what happens in a typical therapy session, and offer insights into careers in the field of therapy.
