Hands-on summer camp for youth in the Book Arts studios!
Print, Dye, Weave, Draw – Paper is Fiber, Too
Monday August 5 - Friday August 9, 11am-1:30pm
Spend a week with WNY Book Arts and Blubird Studio exploring where close cousins print arts and fiber arts meet in our first Print, Dye, Weave and Draw Camp! Students will learn how to create patterns and and folds in cloth and paper alike with Shibori Dyeing, Origami Book Making and Learn how to “draw” with thread using a punch and needle, Capture botanical prints using anthotype, cyanotype and traditional brayer and ink, Create Marble Art and Weave without thread in a week of art education at the WNY Book Arts under the instruction of visiting teaching artist Tami Fuller.
Students are asked to bring snack and water bottle and dress for mess. Please bring student’s choice: cotton T-shirt, Tank Top or bandana to the first day of camp. Must be 100% cotton, white and pre-laundered. All other supplies included.
CAMP HOURS: Monday, August 5th – Friday, August 9th 11am-1:30pm
Things to note:
• Makers of all skill levels are welcome. This camp is suitable for ages ~9-12.
• All necessary tools and materials to participate are provided, unless otherwise indicated above.

ABOUT THE TEACHING ARTIST:
Fuller is an award winning fiber artist, gallery owner, curator and exhibiting member of the Buffalo Society of Artists, Roycroft Emerging Artist in Fiber, a 2022 NYSCA CR-NY designee and a member of the Buffalo Weaver’s Guild and the Weaver’s Guild of Rochester. Besides being a mother herself, she is the daughter of a shepherdess raised on a working sheep farm with a knowledge of both fine art execution and technical application of fiber. Fuller brings ten years of educational experience to WNY Book Arts, including previous youth arts education for the Carnegie Art Center, Mandala School, Nardin Academy, MUSEjar, Knox Farm State Park and the Town of Aurora.
