About this Event
This workshop explores the connection between visual/ audible/ edible/ experiential art, how each form may be similar and how artists in each area often collaborate.
Students are first led in a 15-20 min music activity where they listen to a song and they create on paper based on how they could translate the audio to visual form (brush strokes represent tempo, colour palette from how the song makes them feel). They will then use inspiration from a favourite song to create a finished piece by painting on a vinyl record.
- All art supplies will be provided.
- Aprons will be provided however it is encouraged that students wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty.

Class Instructor: Peyton Rockel
Peyton Rockel (she/Her) is a painter and garment artist who has a passion for community and education, specifically art education. Her experience of seeking out community and opportunities in Edmonton, spending time experimenting and creating art, as well as work experience with students as a teacher has led to the confidence and true excitement to work alongside Lorelle to organize and host Young Artist Summer Workshops!
