Join us for an inspiring afternoon of classical and contemporary music at the Youth Music Recital In Support of Peace. This special event showcases talented young musicians, aged 7 to 24, uniting through the universal language of music.
Program Overview
Experience a diverse program featuring works from renowned masters like Handel, Beethoven, Schumann, Debussy, and Smetana. The recital places a strong emphasis on Ukrainian music, including works by Bortkiewicz, Stetsenko, Skoryk, Lysenko, Kosenko, Bohdana Filtz, as well as living composers Aleksandr Gonobolin, Zoltan Almashi, and Catherine Likhuta.
Performances will span piano, violin, bandura, vibraphone, drums, and marimba.
Featured Artists
Grand Prize Winner: Mondy Gottesman, Grand Prize winner of the Third Ukrainian Music Competition, will perform two evocative pieces for cello and piano: "Elegy" by Zoltan Almashi and "Élégie - La Tristesse" by Mykola Lysenko.
Ensemble Premiere: The Cal Poly Pomona Piano Ensemble will present "Heirlooms Suite" for piano and percussion (2021) by acclaimed living Ukrainian composer Catherine Likhuta.
Rising Opera Stars: Enjoy compositions by Lysenko, Skoryk, Stetsenko, Smetana, and Filtz, performed by Anna Nakonechna, Polina Kornyushenko, Ruslana Kaminska, and Maria Venikov.
Young Promising Talent: We are also happy to welcome to the stage young pianists Anthony Avram, Alice Sorochan, Ivan Shelest, Nadia Ugur, and violinist Yesieniia Khudolii, already loved by our audience.
