🌿 Youth Mindful Event Overview
Mindful Kids: Weekly Youth Mindfulness Class at Healing House
A fun and calming class designed for kids in grades 2–5. Join anytime!
This weekly donation-based class, led by Kristi McDougall, introduces children to mindfulness through playful practices, simple breathing exercises, movement, and activities that help them build focus, resilience, and calm. Kids don’t need any prior experience — they can join at any time and will benefit from each class individually.
✨ Come as you are. Kids don’t need to bring anything special — just wear comfortable clothes and be ready to explore mindfulness in a fun way.
✨ Weekly but flexible. This class is ongoing and can be joined at any time. Each session stands alone, so there’s no pressure to commit to a series.
✨ For grades 2–5. Tailored for children in this age range, blending calm practices with kid-friendly energy.
✨ Donation-based. We believe in sharing these skills early to help shape children’s lives in meaningful, lasting ways.
🧘 What is Youth Mindfulness?
For Beginners:
Mindfulness helps kids learn to slow down, breathe deeply, and notice their thoughts and feelings without judgment. In this class, practices are taught in simple, playful ways — like mindful breathing, gentle movement, and short visualizations. Kids will leave feeling calmer and more confident in handling big emotions.
For Experienced Kids (or returning students):
Each class also introduces new techniques to deepen focus and awareness. Students explore a variety of mindful tools — from breath practices to guided reflections — that help them carry mindfulness into everyday life. Returning students will continue to grow their practice, while each class still feels fresh and engaging.

Your guide for this practice is Kristi McDougall (@focusandflourishkids).
Kristi is a passionate youth mindfulness teacher who blends creativity, compassion, and playfulness into every class. She believes mindfulness is not only a skill but a gift kids can carry with them into school, friendships, and family life. Her teaching style ensures that children feel safe, supported, and excited to return each week.
