Youth Lates - Open Mic and Live Music Night

Hey there, music lovers! Get ready for a night of talent and tunes at Galway Arts Centre | Nuns Island Theatre, H91 H322

This event is for young people aged 16-19 years old. All events are strictly alcohol / drug free and strictly no smoking. Come join us for a night of live music, good vibes, and a whole lot of fun!

Galway City Council is partnering with Youth Work Ireland Galway, Galway City Comhairle na nÓg, Music Generation Galway City, and Galway Arts Centre | Nuns Island Theatre to launch Youth Lates, a pilot project running from October to December 2024. This initiative offers young people a safe and engaging space to participate in Galway’s vibrant night-time economy.

Live Music: Showcasing the incredible skills of young musicians involved in Music Generation Galway City programmes

Special Guest Performance: Adore

Adore is a 3-piece garage punk band hailing from Galway, Donegal and Dublin. Their music combines themes from surf, disco and pop which blends with their punk sensibilities, firmly grounded by crunchy guitar and a powerful drum and bass combo.

Support Act: Moonlight Eclipse

Moonlight Eclipse is a young rock band hailing from Athenry, Co. Galway. Formed by four friends who discovered their shared passion for music in school, the band has evolved from jamming together to writing and recording original tracks.

In the past year and a half, Moonlight Eclipse has released 6 original songs, all available to stream on major platforms. The band has been building momentum with numerous live performances across Ireland, delivering energetic sets that blend their own material with popular rock covers.

Youth Lates is proudly supported by Galway City Council Night-Time Economy and Galway City Council Creative Ireland Programme. This initiative is funded by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.
