Ages 11 -14 (or grades 6 - 8)
In this class, we will cover all the basics of improvisation, including improv tenets, building blocks of an improvised scene, and foundations of stage performance. Students will practice listening, expression, and agreement while finding their unique voice in a safe and fun environment. Our main goal is to “yes, and” while playing together!
Great for all, as improv builds confidence and bolsters growth through collaboration, listening, and personal expression. Guaranteed to inspire tons of creativity and fun!
This class will culminate in a performance showcase for friends and family on December 21 at 1:30pm.
About the instructor:
Daniel Repp (he/him) is a pacific northwest playwright, improviser, and educator. He has been performing improv for eleven years with groups including Chaos Theory and ComedySportz Seattle. In 2022, he was excited to join The Upfront’s performance cast. Daniel has taught improv at Youth Theatre Northwest and Bellingham Arts Academy for Youth. He enjoys improv’s ability to help youth build confidence, community, and cooperation. Daniel’s plays have been recognized by the Kennedy Center in the categories of comedic playwriting and theatre for young audiences. When not doing theatre, Daniel enjoys playing board games and climbing fake rocks.
