Join us for our first Youth Night event at Maleny Lane! Doors open at 3 PM, with food served at 3:30 PM. Come along, eat some grub, and have your say on what you'd like to see happen in Maleny's youth space!We have a Youth Space?!!
Yes we do!
While sports and other after-school activities are available to some, Maleny has long been missing a place for the youth to get a feed and relax after school hours. This is why we’re so excited to announce the opening of The Youth Space, or, as some of the kids have already named it, The Spot.
Every Wednesday during the school term, the space will be open to any youth aged 12 – 18, whether they attend Maleny High, Flexi, Home School, Online Schooling, or anywhere in between. Each week from 2:30 – 5:00, there will be free food, and a safe space, supervised by a Youth Worker.
We also have games, movies, a brand new ping-pong table donated by the community, and plenty of art supplies. As we move forward we hope to offer workshops and talks from locals in different career paths, depending on what our youth would like to see – this is a youth led youth space, welcoming all.
