Join Damon Moore, Founder and Executive Director of Oyster River Ecology, for a 1.5-mile stroll along a rubberized trail at the Robinson Preserve Expansion. Damon, who led the restoration of this property from fallow farmland to a thriving mosaic of natural habitats, will share the story behind the project and its transformation into a cherished local asset. We will be joined by film students with Eckerd College who will be making a mini documentary about ORE's programs. You may be interviewed for the film! We'll learn about habitat restoration, the value of native plants, the problems with invasive species, and the fisheries restoration habitat design aspects of this property. This tour will highlight how science is applied to habitat restoration and include a lot of great stories about how Robinson Preserve came to be. You won't want to miss it! No age restrictions. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Bring all your questions about the natural world!
