About this Event
In support of Secretary Walsh’s vision to transform the workforce system and empower workers morning, noon, and night, the Employment and Training Administration has launched ETA Vision 2030 – a workforce development initiative aimed at opening up opportunities for vulnerable workers, building new industry partnerships that lead to good jobs, improving the care economy, and preparing for the future of work. A key piece of the ETA Vision 2030 is the Youth Employment Works strategy, designed to advance the priorities of the Biden administration by placing a specific focus on young people aged 14-24. At its core, the Vision 2030 Youth Employment Works strategy imagines three key impact goals:
- Ensuring guaranteed paid work experiences for youth;
- Increasing the number of businesses and sector partners committed to high quality career pathways for young workers; and
- Creating a no wrong door youth workforce system that offers seamless access to resources, programs, and wrap around services.
Achieving these impacts requires deep coordination and alignment across diverse systems and stakeholder groups, and intentional silo busting. The December 14th roundtable and half day summit will convene critical stakeholder groups to spotlight the reciprocal priorities and strategies at play, highlight the importance of youth as part of the solution to our country’s labor market challenges, and foreshadow DOL’s 2023 agenda for youth employment.
