Become an investigator while learning how science and the law intersect!
Students will be presented with a re-creation of a crime scene and will learn about the phases of the legal process, gathering and analyzing evidence, testing techniques, and more. Hands-on activities will teach students to observe and interpret details, practice teamwork and hone critical thinking skills.
Throughout the camp, students will:
*Discuss the legal basis for search and seizure, search warrants and the Fourth Amendment
*Use common equipment used in crime scene investigations, including fingerprinting, blood splatter, footprint casts, and more
*Learn how to enter, secure and execute a crime scene
*Take fingerprints and collect other evidence samples
*Collect evidence and analyze the results
*Explore the many career possibilities in forensic science.
