About this Event
Join best-selling author, award-winning book coach/speaker, and domestic violence survivor Jas Rawlinson (as seen in Business Insider, ABC, Mamamia, and news.com.au) for an inspiring day of writing and storytelling, exclusively for domestic and sexual violence providers and survivors.
In this half-day writing workshop, you’ll learn how to embrace your story and transform it
into a powerful narrative of hope and healing. As a fellow domestic/sexual violence survivor, and an internationally renowned speaker/author, Jas will gently lead you through her expert framework, allowing you to discover the power in your personal story, and re-write shame into strength, and trauma into triumph.
In this 4 hour workshop, participants will:
• learn what makes their personal story powerful, and why the best stories often come
from ‘imperfect’ writers
• understand how to balance vulnerability with self-care
• know their options for safely sharing their story with friends vs the media
• receive guidance from Jas to begin writing their story, in an easy-to-follow format
• create new and beautiful connections with other survivors in the room
Note: This workshop is best suited to staff and women who have been through previous
programs with a domestic violence/homelessness service, and are looking to move into
the next phase of their healing journey. It is not suitable for women in crisis.
