Join me Wayne, a master Kombucha brewer, for an interactive, fun Kombucha brewing masterclass followed by a creative drawing session on Saturday 22nd February 2024 at 11:00AM. Together we shall learn how to brew some delicious Kombucha safely and effectively. I will show you everything that you need to know to brew a delicious glass of Kombucha and how to properly take care of your kombucha brew.
What is Kombucha?
Kombucha is a fermented probiotic beverage, made out of tea, and SCOBY - the kombucha culture. It tastes sweet, sour and a bit tangy, a flavor only avid Kombucha lovers know about.
What are the benefits?
Kombucha is said to have a wide range of health benefits through its organic acids as well as being great for gut health. It is great for digestion and also helps the body detox from harmful chemicals and substances.
Kombucha is also very refreshing and is a healthy tonic that can be enjoyed any time of the day, and it is a healthful alternative to soft drinks.
What will I learn?
Throughout the workshop, class, and tasting, we will be going through the whole process of how to make Kombucha from start to finish; the ingredients and tools needed, first fermentation process, second fermentation process, bottling procedure, proper SCOBY care, tasting of some delicious kombucha, as well as right instruction throughout the workshop. I will be answering all your questions as well as preparing together a batch of kombucha for you to take home with you.
This workshop is intended for people interested in kombucha, both beginners and experienced, or anyone interested to learn a new hobby in the kitchen. All participants are encouraged to ask as many questions as they can! I look forward to welcoming you inside the world of Kombucha.
Creative drawing session 🎨
This is my latest offering that I'll be adding to the workshop this year. After creating a batch together in the masterclass we shall continue to deepen our creative juices and expressively draw what I like to term as inspired kombucha art. The session promotes mindfulness and free expression throughout which we shall be sipping some Kombucha both to aid and enjoy the whole artistic process. Afterwards every participant will be invited to share their experience and reflect on what feelings arise as they draw and express from this space they have cultivated after making Kombucha. 🤿
About the host:
Wayne is a super passionate Kombucha brewer - from his first taste, it was love at first sip. But its roots go way deeper as his grandmother used to brew her own Kombucha inside her little kitchen, at the age when he was 7, still remembering that distinct vinegary smell inside the fridge and asking curiously about it. He rediscovered Kombucha during the COVID pandemic, and started his own brewery in Gozo and currently teaches people how to brew delicious Kombucha in a fun and unique way in his workshops and classes.
