About the Mentor

Mudit Singhal is a filmmaker in Mumbai. His latest short film Yes Sir! went to 41 film festivals across the globe and won 11 awards in the process. He has also directed and produced 5 theatre productions in Mumbai. He is currently pitching his feature film script for production.

Master the art of reading films through written text visual text and audio text. Analyse scenes from classic films to understand how meaning is created through composition sound design and editing choices.

Writing your Screenplay

From logline to finished scene learn screenwriting essentials including character goals conflict structure dialogue craft and visual storytelling. Practice with guided exercises and peer feedback.

Preparing for Production

Pre-production basics for micro-crews: shot lists casting locations call sheets and crew roles. Production fundamentals including composition lighting sound recording and safety protocols.

Planning for Film Festivals

Map your submission strategy understand festival types and fit track deadlines and explore alternative screening venues including online platforms and community screenings.

This is not a complete filmmaking workshop. However this workshop guides you to kickstart your writing process tips for preparing for your production whenever you get to make your short film and choosing the right screening avenues including film festivals and others once your short film is completed.
