Gretchen Renshaw Bio
Gretchen Renshaw enjoys a multifaceted career as a conductor, tuba and euphonium performer, and administrator. She is an Associate Professor of Music and the Coordinator of Assessment at Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas, and President of the Arkansas College Band Directors Association. Prior to her time in central Arkansas, Gretchen completed a Doctor of Musical Arts in Tuba Performance and Master of Music in Wind/Orchestral Conducting at Michigan State University, where she was a University Distinguished Fellow. Previously, she earned degrees in Euphonium Performance from the University of Arkansas and Penn State University.

Join Hendrix College and The Max Event Center for a Lunch & Learn Experience featuring lunch, conversation, and a hands-on exploration of concepts from the book Your Brain on Art: How the Arts Transform Us by Susan Magsamen and Ivy Ross. This is the first of three events in the Conway Connections: Building Community Through Neuroarts series presented by Hendrix and The Max Event Venue.
The Your Brain on Art Lunch & Learn Experience will serve as a connecting point for people in our community who are interested in the arts and exploring how our lives and community can be transformed through them. In this one-hour event, you will enjoy lunch from Cross Creek Sandwich Shop and then learn and have conversations about the major concepts from Your Brain on Art: How the Arts Transform Us by Susan Magsamen and Ivy Ross. The hour will close with a hands-on artistic and community-building activity which will provide the launch into the next two events of the Conway Connections series.
