A 'Yutick' is old Lancashire slang for a Beamer β a job that required nimble hands and a good eye for detail, perfect for children to start their first jobs in the mill. For this Halloween we want you to come all dressed up ready to scare and join one of our ghostly guides on a tour of the mill. Learn some of the jobs that people would have had to do in a late 1800s steam powered mill. Will you be a Weaver? An Overlooker? Or a Firebeater? Throughout the tour children will be encouraged to take part in helping their guide perform demonstrations, so be ready to get hands-on for your first day at t'mill. At the end, participating children will be awarded their certificate and their day's 'wage'. So, book now and donβt miss out on your chance to learn more about Lancashire's textile industry with this fun, hands-on experience!
Please note: Adult guardians will have to stay with the tour group throughout. Additionally, we request a limit of two adults/guardians per booking so that the tour can stay focused on the younger members experience. There is a maximum of 12 children per tour. Under 4yr olds are free and do not need to be booked on.
Please note: Once you have paid for this tour you do not need to pay our standard museum admission fee and can go back round the mill after this event has ended.
