Our Young Singers Project students and mentors will present a final concert. This year, our YSP ensemble will feature works that transport their audience through the journey of Light, Hope, and Endurance through the Human Spirit.Students will explore this theme through rich harmonies and evocative texts, tracing a path from darkness into light across cultures and eras with music from Moses Hogan, Frank Ticheli, Daniel Gawthrop, and more. This program will celebrate the resilience, unity, and hope that define the human experience. Ajee Church will conduct.
Now entering its twenty-sixth year, the Young Singers Project is the Virginia Chorale's flagship educational outreach program. The YSP is a unique opportunity for select high school students from across the region to be mentored by the professional singers of the Chorale in an intensive rehearsal and performance process. YSP alumni have gone on to study at the finest conservatories in the United States and are active musicians (both professional and amateur) across Virginia and beyond.
The Young Singers Project showcases some of the best high school singers in southeastern Virginia. Students from all around Hampton Roads are selected in a highly competitive audition process each fall.
