About this Event
This session we will be starting maintenance to Rainton Meadows bird hide.
Help us restore and maintain our bird hide to ensure visitors can enjoy wildlife and the 200+ bird species at Rainton Meadows.
Join this group of young volunteers and get some hands on experience of managing a nature reserve and recording the wildlife.
These volunteering hours can count towards a Duke of Edinburgh Award or can be recorded as work experience on your CV, plus you’re helping to do your bit for the environment!
Please dress for the weather. Wear sturdy boots/footwear and if you have work gloves bring those too.
Activities across different sessions may include:
- Brush cutting
- Grass cutting and raking
- Litter picking
- Surveying
- Species ID
- Nature themed craft
