Join Mead Botanical Garden's Young Naturalist Explorers class, Saturday December 7th at 9:30am to become a Wildlife Detective!
For December, it’s for the birds! Birdwatching, or birding is a fun activity for kids of all ages. Learn what you need to get started on this life-long hobby and how to identify birds using field clues and sound. Just in time for the fall and winter migrations.
We will talk about winter bird migration and then do a fun activity on bird beak adaptations followed by bird id and behavior bingo hike.
Activity: Bird Beak Buffet - Learn how the shape and size of beaks have adapted to a particular food source.
Short Hike: Bird ID and Behavior Bingo
What to bring? Binoculars to use. *We will have extras binoculars to borrow. Please wear confortable walking shoes or boots incase its wet/muddy.
