A cracking way to start 2025: we’re joined by Mercury prize nominated outfit Young Knives on January 27th!It’s impossible to nail Young Knives down to a genre. Ever faithful to their manifesto “Young Knives: Not a band, not music, not art”. Elements of rock, post-punk, electronic music and everything in-between…
“Through this album’s many twists and turns there runs a streak of brilliant inventiveness. They’ve found some reasons to be cheerful again, and the result is their most uplifting – and arguably their best – work yet” – DIY
Brothers Henry Dartnall and The House of Lords have been turning out weirdly catchy records since the start of the millennium. Initially riding the wave of the mid 2000’s British post-punk resurgence with a string of Indie disco classics and top 20 trojan horse hits, they quickly transcended any genre thrown at them by moving into more experimental electronica and noise rock in the 2010’s. This evolution culminated in the release of the critically received ‘Barbarians’ in 2020. Their blues quashing live-streams and Spotify hacking experiments making them self-proclaimed saviours of the pandemic era. The next year sees them back with new and totally unique material as they prepare to sneak their way back into your sub-conscious once again.
“A loud, chaotic mix of electronic, indie-rock, hard rock and 80s synths. A fusion that seems unlikely but somehow adds an eccentric yet dark twist on each track to make a statement. A truly unforgettable album” – Square One
“The soundtrack to the worst and the best in all of us… Barbarism has not faded into obscurity, it’s here stronger than ever. And so are Young Knives” – God is in the TV
