Mel Brooks' YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN
(PG, 1974, 106 min)
Gene Wilder joins forces with the great Mel Brooks for this 1974 fan-favorite, which focuses on the efforts of a descendant of the famed Dr. Victor Frankenstein to create his very own monster. With a stacked cast including Peter Boyle, Marty Feldman and Cloris Leachman, the beloved Brooks hit was shot in black-and-white in order to capture the atmosphere of horror films of the 1930s and serves as a parody to the genre. “Young Frankenstein” was both a critical and commercial hit, going on to earn two Academy Award nominations and landing on numerous critics lists: it ranked number 13 on the American Film Institute's list of 100 funniest American movies.
