The Mitre Players will be returning to the magnificent Minack Theatre in August with previews in Croydon between the 17th and 20th July.
The story follows bright young Dr. Frankenstein (that’s Fronk-en-steen) as he attempts to complete his grandfather’s masterwork and bring a corpse to life. Together with his oddly shaped and endearing helper Igor (that’s Eye-gor), and his curvaceous, yodelling lab assistant Inga, Frankenstein succeeds in creating a monster — but not without some (comically) scary and quite often hilarious complications.
Featuring over 20 catchy songs, imaginative choreography, colourful costumes and impressive effects, Mel Brooks combines many of the elements of the 1931 film with his own brand of anarchic, irreverent and risqué humour – you have been warned!
Tickets for the Minack go on sale from 5th February and will sell out pretty quickly so if you (or any family or friends) are planning to come and watch then do book sooner rather than later. Tickets for our Croydon run will go on sale in a few months time, though, but are also expected to be popular so keep your eyes peeled for a message from us when they're available!
